5 bucks for queso and the avacado stuff?

so lets say you go to a mexican restaurant......usually, they serve free chips with salsa, and the waiter will always ask if you want some queso with that, or even guacamole dip.

And when you look at the prict tag, it's like 5 bucks for it.....why exactly? I've never ordered before because it is so expensive for some dip, but is it that good? good enough to be comparable to an appetizer dish?

explanation?

It isn't worth 5 bucks. Just keep demanding more chips and salsa, at least that's free. 😀

I concur, you have to save that money for the

Because people's stomachs do the thinking when they go to restaurants.

If the waiter asks, they will just say "YESSS!!" without thinking of the price. Easy 5 bucks.

Although 5 bucks is high, guacamole is indeed expensive. Avocados can cost a lot if they're out of season so many restaurants have stopped serving it with entrees and only give it upon request

El Pollo Loco, Baja Fresh, and Rubios have Guacamole on the salsa buffet.

those are fast food, you can't compare their prices w/a regular sit down restaurant. well you can but you would be a silly person.

Avacados can get up to $2-5 EACH and you need 3-4 to make a nice size dip out of it. Those places that serve it on a buffett obviously dont use real ingredients.
