Alright, I think I really f'd up some girls comp today. Her IE was pretty old, 3.0 or so, so I said I'd install 5.5.... Now she gets an explorer.exe error after every boot up,,, for pieve of mind I really want to know what caused it,,, it was having some probs (random HD errors aand such),,, but did the 5.5 upgrade do it?

Probably, the IE5.5 install didn't go too well. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, IE5.5, reinstall or go back to the previous version and install again (personally, I would stay away from 5.5 and stick with 5.01 with SP).
 
can't even get into windows man,,, explorer error on startup,,, cant get into safe mode either... she has no 98 cd or any drivers,,, its gonna be a long assed day....
