I have the Thermaltake Xaser III case and there are two large internal 3.5 bay holders that allow you to have up to 6 hard drives installed at once.(Seen here)
I'm only useing one hard drive so I don't have any use for the other bays.
I was wondering if I could put my hardrive in my empty 5.25 slot or in my extra floppy drive bay, and what kind of adapter I would need?
The hard drive bays are blocking my two intake fans and thats another reason I want to get rid of them.

Thank you.

Is that a reliable company? Do you know if Newegg has any? I don't know where to look. Could you send me a link to where specifically that site has what I'm looking for.

Though you can find 3.5" mounting kits separately, try looking for hard drive cooling kits at Newegg or SVC. You can browse though kits alone if you want.

I have that case. Its made by casetek. I have the enermax rebadged version. It has none of the frilly addons that thermaltake put in.

Anyway, I have all 6 of those bays occupied. I do not use the front as intake. Moreover, all the included fan mounts are filled, and are all exhaust. I put in 2 120mm fans on the left case panel (removing hte plastic fan cage thing you have showing) and use that as intake.

I will warn you now, that if you do put in the HDD up top, it will make your case more top-heavy than it already is. You can blame ATX case specifications for that. The top-heaviness of the case can cause it to tip over readily if you bump it.

Will a hardrive cooler mount directly into a 5.25 bay? I don't think it will. All those froogle search results are for floppy's. I dont want the hole in the front. I just want my harddrive to fit in a 5.25 bay.

I just shook the case. Its as study as a tank. I don't think its going to tip over with just teh additional weight of a harddrive.

That case weighs a TON, it's heavy, it's not going to tip over from an hd added.

Yah, taking it to LAN's really sucks. Weighs like 50 pounds when everything is installed.

I wonder why I bother. . .

The first froogle link says hard drive in the froogle blurb. The second froogle link is listed for floppies but after clicking on it, there's a "related products" image on the right hand side for "GENERIC HDD MOUNT, HARD DRIVE MOUNTING KIT 3.5" TO 5.25" DRIVE CONVERTER FOR HARD DRIVE". The third link shows you "ATACOM 3.5 INCH HARD DRIVE MOUNTING KIT (BLACK)" and "ATACOM 3.5 INCH HARD DRIVE MOUNTING KIT". That last one is described as "This metal kit helps you mount a 3.5" hard disk drive in a 5.25" bay."

I have never seen a hard drive cooling kit designed to fit in 3.5" bay -- every one I've seen requires a 5.25" bay to fit the fans/heatpipes/cooling gimmick.

How much hand holding do you need? Do you want me to come over and show you how to use your mouse to click on the links I've provided? I'll even bring a laser pointer over to highlight the lines on your monitor explaining how the product will let you "put [your] hardrive in [your] empty 5.25 slot".

I'm trying to do the least amount of work possible, so alot of hand holding is nice.

I'm not trying to get a cooler in a 3.5 bay, my intention all along was to get the HDD in a 5.25 bay.
