I didn't even know they made 5.25" Hard Drives till I tore apart my uncle's old HP. When I finally got the cage out, I was greeted by a Quantum Bigfoot TX. Almost the entire drive is enclosed and its real heavy.

I don't know if I want to use it or display it on my desk. ;) I really don't need the 4 GB this monster offers but I have a dead Seagate thats sitting on my desk as well... :)

* On a side note, I posted in the wrong window again, I'm going crazy... :D

What a newbie you are.:) Did you know they also made 5.25 floppy drives? How about cartridge loading cdroms?

I have one of those in my friends computer as a secondary drive, a whopping 2.5GB.

Yes and no.

I really like the design of the Quantum though. It sure beats the two Deskstars in my machine now. I do like the Seagate's chrome. Too bad it dead before I ever got to use it...

Try planting a 5.25" FULL HIGHT hard drive sometime. Twice the hight of a CD-ROM. You don't see them around much now for a reason.

Ahhh, My old 20 MB... How I miss the days of hitting my brother in the head with it, then putting it back in and chugging away...

Take out the magnet in it and use it to hang stuff on your fridge. The magnets are really powerful.
