5.25/3.5" USB 2.0 and Firewire Combo Enclosure $25

I think that is the same I have. Worked fine on an ibook with both USB (in that case 1.1 because of the old ibook) and firewire. Did benchmark it yet, didn't test on anything else.
 
I got me one $31 bucks shipped. The code was good for $4. Thanks for tip. I have been looking for good price like this with firewire and usb. 2.0 connections.

intio are SCSI chispset company...so far no problem for me yet..although the NEC chipset is one of the best..and also cost a lot more...
 
mine arrived on friday-using the firewire and a 3.5 seagate for backup. the case is pretty flimsey, but everything works fine. pretty cool firewire cable to boot
 
Indeed, the case is flimsey. How do you keep the lid on? It just flies off when you tilt it. Not a big deal since it will sit on my desk and never move, but for people that want to travel with it...break out the scotch tape!
 
Mine arrived on Sat. 7 days to ship from Ca. to Ma. , it works great with cool lighted usb cable and HDD for backing up my season 2 Rescue Me TV show. The top cover slides off just a tad too easy as mentioned a smig of tape will take care of it. It was a great deal and I would do it again in a minute.
 
recieved mine yesterday....of course i doesn't work. Why me? I guess I will find out how this company is on returns.

Typical....They won't refund shipping I am out $16.

Company is a bunch of idiots. I filled out the online RMA form and send it in. They say send it back, but they don't give you an address to send it back to.

 
I've been using this enclosure for a few days now and discovered that it does not work with BENQ DVD Burners. I put mine in and it craps out when Windows trys to enable it (through USB 2.0). My Aopen drive works in it perfectly. I updated the firmware of the chipset in the case (listed on the sale page) and still no go. Make sure you have a firewire connection to upgrade the firmware because it won't work through USB 2.0.
