5 120mm fans

Why would you need this many fans?
Honestly with the right case you dont need 5 120mm fans.
And if temps are an issue then go water cooling.

consider this: I use a nitrogen gas fed in through 3 of the fans and exhausted through 2. I use a special polyurethane coating that does not crack under super low temperatures, but is thin enough to transfer heat. I need the fans to regulate in and out a certain amount of this gas so that the pressure level does not rise high enough to break a crack in the glass separating the mobo from the drives. I would use wireless adapters for all hard drives and optical drives.

OR...i could use a pure sodium gas to supercool the computer, and if too much gets in the case, the pressure could rise high enough to crack the case, and let in oxygen, which would ignite the sodium and blow up everything within 50 feet.

OR...I'm looking for a case that has enough fan expansion room to possibly accomodate 5 120mm fans, which would give incredible cooling at a price lower than water cooling

or you have raw potassium in there and want to make sure no wateer vapour enters, water and potassium are nice outsied of your comp...

Huh????? First, you'd need a completely sealed case to do any of this. Second....researching and designing this, and then building it so that it actually works will likely cost thousands of dollars and lots of time. Why not just use watercooling rather than some crazy custom setup?

Most likey, a case that suports 5 120mm fans would cost more than water cooling

and I'd imagine it would be loud too.

You won't see any better performance with tons of big fans.

What's needed are:
Efficient heatsinks
1 or 2 medium cfm fans
Unobstructed airflow

I bet the temps would be the same with 75 cfm or 750 cfm.

If you really want a chilly pc, elaborate cooling is needed.

CM stacker can have 3x 120mm front fans with 3 HDD adapters.

It has a stock rear 120mm fan.

Install 2x Seasonic 430 S12 and you have 3x 120mm exhaust. Put all 120mm fans on 5V (like Nexus or Yateloon low speed) and you can potentially have a high air flow, low noise case.

Not sure why you would ever need so much air flow though...

box fan from home depot =15 dollars
duct tape = 3 dollars
attach to open side of case. take other side panel off for exhaust.

You're going to have decreasing returns with the more air you pump through, and you'll have more dust problems. 2 12cms well placed are ideal for an air cooled system. Maybe if placement isn't efficient another over the CPU or HDs would help, but a good case should negate that. So why in the world do you want 5 fans???

Curious, would the box fan motor cause disruption for the hdds and other electronics in the case?

Were you kidding? If not, write a thread on how to do this sodium-without-blowing-up-thing, because I am interested... No, wait, I lied. I like my computer, and can do a 40% overclock on water any day without blowing myself up. You should too, and 2 120s are enough for most sane people.

The size and number of fans is not nearly as important as the placement and speed ... here are you planning to put all of these fans and if you are just looking for a case that can fit them well any case can fit them if you do some moding... You could put 2 on the sides one giving fresh air to your vid card and one giving air to your cpu then put one under your floppy drives and put your hard drives behind that. Then you would have 2 left that you could mount on the top as blow holes to keep the hot air moving up and away from everything. Good air flow is the key and you have to balance your presure so you don't burn them out making them work to hard... for every one taking hot air out you should have one bringing fresh air in.. and you have to count the fan in your power supply too..... just some things to think about..

Yes, he was OBVIOUSLY kidding, I mean come on people, how could you seriously think he wasn't? Since he followed up his insane posts with a logical one? And he is right, with 5 120's you could have a very nicely ventilated case. 2 in 3 out.

well no. i once knew a guy that did this during hot summers. he didn't tape it though. if you are scared u can always distance it with a giant cardboard box duct
