5.1 surround sound

When I play music in Windows, the subwoofer and the center speaker don't get used. I look at the VU meters for each speaker, and windows simply isn't using the center and subwoofer. How do I fix this? Windows is already set to use 5.1 surround speakers.

Music is stereo, it will not use the center and surround channels.

As for the sub, you have to set a crossover point for where the sub should take over for your satellite speakers. For the SB cards this is usually done in software. Speaker systems where the speakers are connected to the sub often have the control on the sub itself.
