5.1+ speaker setup?

In my bedroom, I've only set up my center, front left, and front right, and subwoofer.

I can't think of a good way to set up the rear left/rigth speakers, though it comes with tripods for them.

Anyone have an innovative idea? Table behind your chair to hold the speakers? U-shaped desk?

How have you set up your 5.1 (or more) speakers?

I read somewhere that a common misconception is putting the rear speakers behind you. That in reality they are supposed to be beside you. So I have mine arranged that way ATM. In my pc room, the left rear speaker is straight to my left on a (convenient) window sill, and the right speaker is on a little table. Both speakers are about shoulder high as I sit in my chair.

I have thought about mounting my speakers on stands connected to my chair. The only problem is that you probably need to make your chair stationary.

Cool... I think I may invest in a U-shaped desk, but for now I may imitate your windowsill/table setup 🙂

right in front of me. allows me to play music at a lower volume and hear more 😉 i have it set on "clone" in my soundstorm settings.

but in all seroiusness, next time i'm just going to invest in NICE 2.1 setup. tho right now i wouldn't trade my monsoon mh505s for anything! XD

Front speakers are easy.

The important factor is placement of rear left and rear right.

Supposedly, the optimal configuration is for them to be just behind the vertical plane of your ears and at 30 degrees above the ear.

Hope that makes sense.
