5.1 speaker question

Hi, I just got a set of Logitech Z-640 speakers, nothing fancy, but my old speakers crapped out and 50 bucks was a steal. Anyways, I hooked them up to my mobo's (Asus A7V8X) onboard sound card and they work great.

When I'm watching a DVD movie with surround, I can hear sound out of all 5 speakers which is fine, but when Im listening to MP3s or a DVD without surround sound, nothing comes out of the rears. Is there a way to change that so when Im listening to something that doesn't have surround sound, the rears will produce the same thing coming out of my fronts? Thanks

yeah i think if you mess around with the sound settings in the control panel you can set your sound to 5.1 if you haven't already. or maybe you have to set a setting in your mp3 player to clone the channels. i remember i had to do this when i was using winamp but i use itunes now, which did it automatically.

itunes is the best music player i've seen, in case you're not using it yet.

Ooh, I'm going to try the cloning thing. I just bought those speakers also ($50 :thumbsup😉 but I haven't messed with them too much yet.
