5.1 sound in Winamp?

Confused

Elite Member
Hey all.

I recently bought myself a SB Live 5.1 and Inspire 5300 speakers, and the main thing i do with this computer (other than games) is listen to music, and i would really like to be able to have full 5.1 sound from the kit...after all that's why i bought it!

I know that there is a thing with the 5300s to unplug the centre/sub connector on the back of the sub, but i don't want to have to crawl down under the desk and pull the cable out all the time!

So, does anyone know how to get full 5.1 within Winamp?

Thanks in advance 🙂

i think DFX is a waste of money.
most likely you have the audigy sound card, yes? if so, the software package comes with these sound enhancements

I installed DFX (on trial setup) and it made my music sound as if it was in an aircraft hanger. I don't want the sound changed, i just want it to use all 5 speakers without having to unplug stuff!

Edit: No, i don't have an Audigy, just a plain OEM SB Live! 5.1 (card and driver CD) and there is no way that i have found that i can use all 5 speakers.

Thanks anyway so far
