I searched and came up empty. does one exist or am i stuck with WMP?

It really defeats the purpose of 5.1 speakers if it only plays on 2 🙁
 
I got 4 channel sound in Winamp with my onboard Nvidia Soundstorm by doing this:

Prefs > Plug-ins > Output > DirectSound > Configure > check "Allow hardware acceleration"

Then I just have to use my Z640's matrix mode to get the center channel going and I've got makeshift 5.1 sound. It's probably not the most ideal solution but it gets the job done for me.
