Hi people,
I've decided to buy 5.1 Headphones for my gaming needs.Currently only Gainward SoundXplosion and Zalmans 5.1 headphones are available in my country, with Zalmans being the costly ones.Can any user, having used both, tell me which would be the better of the two.

Are you sure you want 5.1 headphones?

If you search for headphones, there are a lot of threads about this already.

EDIT: ok, I'm still frustrated with the search function on this topic as I've already mentioned in Forum Issues and I'm not getting close to the number of threads I know exist on this topic.

Basically a lot of people think that it's a better idea to get a quality set of stereo headphones for gaming than a set of 5.1 headphones. Some view 5.1 in headphones as a gimmick and you'll get significantly higher quality from a normal set for the same cost.

I never used 5.1 headphones before, so i don't know if they are gimmiks, but whatever reviews i've read on the net, seems to suggest they are excellent for gaming though most people do agree, for music, good quality stereo headphones are better.As i need these headphones primarily for gaming, so i've zeroed on 5.1 headphones.
 
Gaming sites don't know anything about audio. Get good stereo headphones and the Creative X-Fi when it comes out. Stereo headphones, with proper soundcard support, will create sound from ANY direction (including above and below), not just "5.1".

eh....not so much..unless it is a Dolby headphone track...otherwise, it will always just be GOOD stereo

Some good harware websites like eliteb.a.s.t.a.r.d.s. have also given a good review to gainward 5.1 headphones
