5.1 channel support for surround sound system

I think that you should stick with a PCI sound card as onboard soundcards always stress the processor so when playing games or doing other tasks that require alot of processor plus lots of high-quality sounds you will probably get choppy sound if you use onboard. furthermore the sound quality on an Audigy2 is incredible compared to that of any onboard chip. (imho)

When using a SoundStorm + Optical out, it can easily rival the Audigy series.

On the other hand, if your using SoundStorm + Analog out, and is a little fussy with output quality, the Audigy is noticeably better.

The SoundStorm in whatever configuration is pretty CPU efficient, doing a lot of the work on the chip itself, so akseli is wrong for this case.

The Soundstorm has a Nvidia APU,it is very powerful and does not use much CPU power even when compared to the Audigy 2 etc.

I`m happy with my Nvidia onboard sound, infact I`ve boxed away my old Audigy sound card, the Audigy series do have the advantage in gaming with EAX4 support, however I don`t miss it at the moment.

If you want the very best for gaming and full EAX support then go with the Audigy 2,the Nvidia Soundstorm is a good allround package.
