What would you all recommend? I've looked at Outlaw and Emotiva. I just want something really reliable that sounds reasonably good. Has to be 5.0 to drive my computer speakers. (Eventually might switch it to my HT system when I go 4k and switch my receiver with a preamp.)
 
If you don't care about inputs and source switching and all that, just buy a used Yamaha or Denon amp. Pioneer too, maybe... just not an Onkyo.

there really isn't anything wrong with Onkyo's my 818 has been a rock since I got it

both outlaw and emotive are solid ive owned both currently have a cpl emotiva amps. but a simple cheap AVR will prob be fine for what you want

I've seen lots of stuff online (in the past, anyway) that Onkyo receivers fail way more often than competing brands'.
