4x512MB, one stick is running at PC3500, the rest at 3200. Is that bad?

I'm running Vista and find that even after adding another two sticks of 512MB, it is still very slow.

I looked at my memory configuration in the program Everest, and it says one of my sticks is running at PC3500 while the rest run at PC3200.

For having 2GB of RAM my computer is not very responsive at all, and I experience a lot of slowdowns. Could this be the cause?

Memory will only run as fast as the slowest stick. Whatever you have your bios settings at, is what all of your memory is running at (400mhz). Without knowing anything else about your system I cannot tell you why it is slow. If I had to guess, it would be a slow processor, as you seem to be running DDR1, which means you probably are a generation or so behind.

What are the other system spec?

Are you looking at the actual speed of the memory or the SPD? I don't know of ANY way a computer can run 2 DIMMs at different speeds simultaneously.

Yes, along with the fact that you're running Vista, and only 2 GB of RAM.
