4x512 of corsair value ram?

I currently have 1gb (2x512) of pc3200 corsair value ram. I want to go to 2gb, but I'm not sure whether to sell the 2 sticks I have and get 2x1gb of better ram like corsair xms, or just get 2 more sticks of corsair 512mb value ram.

I'm kind of hesitant to invest a lot of money in DDR1 ram since DDR2 and DDR3 are the way of the future. Will having 4 sticks of ram slow my system down a lot? Here are my specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3000 venice core (soon to be upgraded to Athlon X2)
1 gb (2x512mb) corsair value ram
DFI Lanparty Ultra-D nforce4
MSI 7900gt

I had a Venice 3000 running with 4x512 GeIL Ultra DDR500 and it worked perfect for me. Improved my gaming alot. The difference between ddr400 2t and ddr400 1t is not big at all, you probably won't notice it. I upgraded to a San Diego 4000 and still the same great results. As for overclocking, i never really tried any. I did set my timings to 2.3.3.6 but that was about it.
