4x4 or 2x8

I know this answer has probably been asked, before, but I'm just comparing 2 kinds.
Running on an ASUS P8Z77-V PRO
Price vs Speed vs Compatibility vs Real World difference.

Kingston HyperX (4x4GB) ~ $60
DDR3 1600MHz
9-9-9-27

-or-

Komputerbay (2x8GB) ~ $65
DDR3 1600MHz
10-10-10-27

2x8GB will give you an option to upgrade in the future without removing any existing RAM. That's what I would get, the real world difference between RAM is so small nowadays.

Also if you are wantng to overclock you will have less trouble getting the higher overclocks with using two dims as opposed to four generally speaking but it also depends on the qaulity of the dimms and their timings.

The question has been asked multiple times.
Running larger DIMMs is preferable as long as your MB supports those capacities.
Buy quality memory from a long established company.
Komputerbay states up front (if only in small print)...
"We are not responsible for product defects, because we do not manufacture the products we carry."

now that is the stupidest thing I have heard, so they are essentially saying no warranty on it?

Just go with the Kingston brand.

2x8 has the option to add more later, and depending on the quality of DIMMS can help in overclocking. Since less DIMMs put less stress on the NB.

Get some decent brand memory and get 2X8 if you can. There is really NO advantage of going 4x4 over 2x8 unless your motherboard doesn't support the bigger sticks or you are unwilling to pay the price difference. Fewer sticks is superior in every other way.
