4x2g vs 4x1g

Ok so the specs of the computer are going to be as follows:

E8400 OC'd to 3.6ghz
ED3P - Motherboard
8800GT EVGA card
Vista Business 64bit
24" Samsung LCD monitor
Tuniq Tower 120 Cooler.

I plan on setting the FSB to 400mhz at the 1:1 setting (so DDR2-800).
What i need to know is if i am going to see a diffrence in performance if i use 4 tighter timed 1g sticks or 4 decently timed 2g sticks.

I mainly play WoW, Counter-Strike Source, Occasional DVD dubbing, the normal crap done on a computer.

Indeed.

Get the 4x2 GB if you can 😀

Though to repeat this for the zillionth time, 1:1 does not offer the best performance for RAM, tight timings or otherwise.

If you really care about synthetic benchmarking's performance, you need to be looking for higher speeds, not 1:1.

If great benchmarks are the end goal...
Bumping up the FSB by only 1-2MHz overcomes any memory timing differences.
