I currently have 2x1GB (5-5-5-18) installed but it's limiting me in the odd game, so i'm thinking of picking up another 2x1GB (4-4-4-12). Am I going to regret this over 2x2GB? I'm running everything at stock speeds right now, but how bad is the impact should I choose to OC my E2200? If I do OC, i'd probably aim for ~3GHz.

When I built my machine the XMS2 was on sale + a crazy rebate, so I went for that over 2x2GB (was watching spending at the time).

I'd actually recommend a 2x2 GB kit.

If you really are tight for funds, sell the 2x1 GB.

Otherwise, add the 2x2 GB for 6 GB :D

(Dual channel will still apply.)

I've said this enough before, but you really can't have too much RAM in Vista.
Superfetch will put the extra to use, & you'll be flying.

Unless 4x1GB is really going to be a problem I would prefer to avoid spending $100+ (after tax/shipping) on a 2x2GB kit. I did a bit of reading last night and it seems some people have had issues with 4x1GB in various flavours of the PK5-E, but that was usually with modules with tighter timings/required higher voltages. I would be looking to run 4x1GB Corsair XMS2 with 5-5-5-18/1.8V.

Any other thoughts? Perhaps I should be asking in the motherboards forum?
