4x DVI

Can someone point me out some good 4x DVI graphics cards? I prefer Nvidia products and haven't found any yet.

I don't do any gaming However, I do a lot of multitasking and will be running 4 23" monitors. One monitor will probably be used for watching video (movies, tv shows, etc...) while multitasking a handful of applications.

An 8400GS should be fine I think for decoding HD video.

What are your system specs, including your motherboard?

Just get 2 videocards with 2x DVI. That's the most cost effective method.

Right now I'm just rockin a Dell Studio, but I've been toying around the idea of building a custom system so I haven't decided on anything yet.

The reason I suggested 2 videocards is because it will be cheaper than buying an HD58xx board with Eyefinity. I am pretty sure that AMD didn't release any adapters to use mini-displayport 1.2 for multiple displays on HD68xx series either. Therefore, you are probably better off just getting 2 cheap videocards, but you would need 2x PCI Express slots. Most modern motherboards ship with at least a single PCIexpress 16x slot and a 2nd PCIexpress 4x slot.

Alternatively, you can grab an "Eyefinity" card and buy a bunch of Displayport to DVI adapters.

nvidia is limited to 2x monitors per card, you will not find an nvidia card with 4 monitor support.
At video games they are limited to 3 monitors max regardless of how many cards you have. I am not sure if the same limitation applies to desktop usage, so if someone knows please share.

The space and cost to add in a third RAMDAC has left the standard consumer-level card only being able to handle 2 DVI outputs. Professional-level cards offer different features (such as more DVI outputs) for a considerable price.

Display Port allows a work-around. Some board partners have their own multi-GPU designs with more outputs. And then there is Matrox...

We make use of those at work and they are solid cards. 4 DVI or 4 VGA works for some of the employees and our display computers.

DVI-D/HDMI share 1. Displayport doesn't need RAMDACs. This is why AMD uses it.
