4x DVD-R/-RW Drive 29$ AR

Why is it not hot? Because it's 4x? Or because it's Mad Dog? I thought that the Mad Dog drives were reported to be NEC drives before, but perhaps that was only the 8x models. The picture on the box is certainly *not* an NEC drive, but that doesn't mean much, the box pictures sometimes don't match the drive.

I'm very happy with my NEC ND1300A 4x DVD burner that I bought at OM for $30 in a Cendyne box.

Because you could've gotten a Mad Dog NEC ND2500a for 40 AR a couple weeks ago.

$35.00 after shipping for a dvd-rw drive? Last week is last week. Were there better deals before? Sure. Will there be better deals in the future? Sure. But why trash on this deal? Is really is a good deal.

Anyway, I like the Toshiba name and I haven't seen any DVD reader/CD Recorder combo drives for less than this and I happen to have a stack of DVD-R blanks.

rebates is very shady, they hold onto your money for 2 months and decide whether to honor it or not depending on the sales :|

i agree... in fact i have only recived one rebate from officemax... others gone.. or it may be just me. i stopped buying from them since last year, i was going to get a hard drive for cheap and i was the first one to get in, they said someone bought it before me... and there was only one drive in the store. funny thing is i was also the first one to the register. 😕
 
Rebates sucks. They should discount it right off if they want to lower the price.

If you buy with rebate, just be prepare you might not get your money ever.
 
I disagree. My experience with OM has been great. Since last fall I've sent in for nearly 25 rebates and received every one of them. The only one I had to contest was the Mad Dog 8X DVD+/_R drive last month that I bought for 69.99 with a 40.00 rebate. The web site said I didn't have the Mad Dog product registration # written on the form. I just had to make a call to the rebate phone number and read them my Mad Dog registration #. Everythings great now.

Nothing shady about Parago rebates. They're one of the best if not the best rebate house.
