4th of july: how do you celebrate?

Shooting off fireworks tonight. Then heading up to Illinois with the wife tomorrow. White Sox game on the 4th and a little food afterwards.

Sit at home and relax. Watch the neighbor's fireworks and avoid the traffic and hordes going to watch the local displays.

I'll go to the local fair at the lake with my girlfriend, like we did last year. Probably grab some sushi, play some games, and watch the fireworks.

I celebrate freedom by doing whatever the heck I feel like doing when I wake up.

Usually that means doing nothing new until 5 o'clock, then going to someone's house that is grilling out... then who knows.

I'm celebrating this year by going to a concert in canada. I usually go see fireworks and grill some hotdogs outside

Party at our house with a few fireworks on the evening of the 3rd. Getting ready for vacation on the 4th. On the evening of the 4th, we're heading to one of the largest fireworks shows in the area; taking our kayaks, and relaxing on the water just below where the show is lit off from. (Nothing beats being on the water for fireworks shows; especially on a river where you're boxed in by dikes on both sides... really enhances the loudness. You *feel* ever burst in the air.)

I like to celebrate the birth of my country by blowing up a small part of it.

But this year I'll be in Maui and I'm thinking if I bring fireworks on the plane I'll probably be arrested for terrorism.

I drink copious amounts with friends, then blow things up. It's the American Way.

 Same here. Get a lot of nagging, but its one of the only days i dont really care.

-Got fire?

This year we (husband and I) are just going to hang out at our pool and bbq maybe. Downtown Detroit has a huge festival /Taste of Detroit thing going on this weekend too, we might visit there...

Years ago my family and I would go to Historical Greenfield Village and listened to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra play. it is very emotional to me beacause of the setting and the music. at the end, there is a huge fireworks display with live music to compliement them. It is my favorite holiday memory.

For me, I'll have a cookout. I don't plan to shoot off any fireworks, but I may attend a fireworks show.

Everybody went home, so I'm going to spend my time drinking cheap beer and watching Germany knock the crap out of the Italians in the WC.
