Hi,

Just wondering if there's any noticable difference in using these 2 different rams? Does it matter to someone who does not overclock?

Thanks

It doesn't make any difference if you don't plan to overclock it.

Theoretically speaking, the 4ns ram should be able to give you 500mhz DDR with an overclock(I think the Ti4200's come stock at 444mhz), and the 3.6ns ram should be able to give you 555mhz DDR with an overclock. This is not guaranteed but it's probably a better chance to achieve it.

If you're not going to overclock, then it won't matter cause you will not get close to that as it will be fixed at 444mhz DDR for most cards.

;) As said the 3.6ns stuff is designed with a maximum limit around 550mhz while the 4ns can go to around 500mhz.

:) The 64MB GF4TI4200 generally comes with 3.6ns and default clocks of 250/500 while the 128MB version has 4ns and 250/444. Once o/c though both cards seem to reach almost identical levels, even 6ns seems to get close to 550mhz on these cards and I think that's th limit for the TI4200's. I think the o/c limit you reach is down to 6 layers vs 8 layers (4400/4600), BGA etc design for the RAM (4400/4600) and better power regulation (4400/4600), that's why the faster GF4TI cards have super-long designs and can achieve faster speeds.

I have a Prolink g4 4200 w/ Hynix memory chips and I have the memory running @ 570MHz w/o any ramsinks.
