4K won't play on GT 720

To support my new Seiki 4K TV (SE42UGT) that I use as a monitor, I installed an MSI GeForce GT 720 1GB connected via HDMI in my HP DC5750 desktop (Windows 7).

I am not a gamer so I assumed this 1GB card can play 4K @ 30Hz on VLC or 5K player, but when I play a video all I see is the first frame. If I advance to another point it's frozen at that frame and never advances.

It plays 1080p flawlessly and the audio portion of the 4K video also plays, but I don't see why it can't handle 4K video.

What video are you trying to play? h264, h265/hevc or vp9?

At best you are only going to get h264 support if any.

I installed Media Player Home Cinema and now I have video!
Unfortunately it plays somewhat in slow-motion so I probably need to tweak the settings.
It's amazing that certain software players can't handle 4K.
