For those looking there's a 50" 4K LED NON name brand SEIKI TV for $1,299 at Tigerdirect at this moment...

Knowing my luck, I'd get a dead or stuck pixel and end up breaking it in half. Even a single dead pixel pisses me off.

They're 1/4 the size though, I'd be surprised if you could see one even 5' away except maybe on a static white screen

Yeah, more interesting once there's content. Guess somebody has to start though :)

I am extremely anal. I sold a 2 day old Nexus 4 to a forum member (in person) here a few days ago for like $150 off. He looked at the microscopic ding I put on the screen and was like WTF.

Any imperfection on my screen and I will literally never use it. Something like a TV would be a huge PITA to ship back, so I'd probably sell it for half price or something.

Damn that is a huge drop indeed. I swear the cheapest thing was like an $18k project a year ago, maybe I was wrong.

Damn, that would make a good computer monitor to get more pixel real estate, though it would be way too big physically especially with a triple setup. Too bad they don't make actual 4k monitors though, well they probably do but they're far from within reach.

I am guessing it was 15 years ago but I took my wife to see a plasma TV. It was $18k and IIRC, 27".

Like I mentioned in FW and SD...

[FONT=Trebuchet MS !important]Think of it, current 24"-70" HDTV screens having the same resolution of 1920x1080. It's the pixel density that counts. So a 24" screen would have denser pixels than a 70".

Same pixel density 35ppcm(88PPI) as a 25" (if there is such a screen size) at 1920x1080. So it's like putting 4 of those panels together to create a 50" screen.

Also, what kind of gaming rig would you need to power that monitor? sli? 3-way crossfire? quad sli?
