I would like to upgrade to a 4K monitor with my current rig but by upgrading my GPU to SLi 980's. My processor is an Intel Core i7 2600K over clocked to 4.6 GHz and my power supply is 800W Corsair GS. Will I be limited by either my power supply or CPU? Should I think about upgrading my memory as well? I have 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair XMS3 Series. Lastly, any 4K monitors to recommend?

I was looking at this monitor from dell:

Thanks for the help

OCed at 4.6ghz? Nah.

4K monitors are pretty flakey ATM. Acer is coming out with a Gsync 4K for $800 if you don't mind a TN panel. Imo Imma stick with 1440p until all the kinks get worked out an affordable IPS.

The 2600k clocked to 4.6ghz is going to be fine for 980SLI. Not worth upgrading that for more CPU performance IMO. That being said, you could get more performance via OC'ing one of the newer CPU's, but it wouldn't be a reasonable tradeoff for cost of upgrade.

8GB DDR3, upgrade that to 16GB. 8GB is fine for games, but I have noticed that between 8GB and 16GB that my cames close much more smoothly with 16GB installed. If you go used you can get that done cheaply.

4K monitors, more choices popping up.

Another choice is 3440x1440 ultrawide, must see in person IMO.

Your setup would crush that, and you could work that with 970SLI and save $450 on GPU.
