So I got my hands on the Panasonic TC-65AX800 4k 3D LED TV that's capable of 4K@60Hz in full 4:4:4 Chroma. It's also one of the only TV's out with a displayport. Have it hooked up to i7 5930K rig with 3 GTX970's in 3 way SLI which is capable of supporting 4K@60Hz in full 4:4:4 Chroma in HDMI and Displayport.

So should I be seeing any differences between the 2 in terms of fps or PQ when gaming at 4K/60Hz/4:4:4?

I know that HDMI 2.0 is supposed to be on par with Displayport, but the one thing I have noticed is when I run 3DMark Fire Strike it fails quite a bit when doing it through the HDMI connection but not with the displayport.

There's no difference in IQ or performance. Stability wise you might see a difference, DP seems more picky than HDMI when it comes to longer cable runs.

Also it's pretty hard to run into a bad HDMI cable but DP cables have VESA compliant and non VESA compliant ones. The non compliant ones may have active 20 pins which means reduced bandwidth, and also black screens during post.

Also DP signals don't carry as far as vanilla HDMI 1.4 or even HDMI 2.0 on an equivalent-gauge basis.
