Ordered an a590 the other day and looking for a recommendation on the best value in a 4gb sd card. Newegg has a billion and not sure who to go with. Don't need superhigh performance but I would like something that will at least allow me to take pictures as fast as the camera can (ie the camera is the bottleneck not the card). Would like to keep the price ~$20ish.

Any recommendations?

SanDisk seems to be the gold standard with Lexar close behind. I've had good experiences with Transscend as well.

i just picked up three 4gb sandisk extreme IIIs for 128 bucks
and sandisk has a rebate promotion going on now where they're going to send me a rebate for 110

so three 4gb extreme IIIs for 18 bucks shipped after rebate
i think the price has gone up by a couple bucks today, but still a good deal

What kind of camera is this going in though?

Oh and sandisk is still doing that rebate?

I got my $100 card just the other day from when I ordered some stuff.

Missed the A590 in the OP.

Here's the thing. An 8MP JPG file at highest quality on that camera is probably about 3.5MB. The burst rate is 1.4FPS. So in say 5 seconds that's 7 photos. 7 * 3.5MB = 24.5MB. Take your transfer rate (6MB/s) and multiply that by 5 second and you get 30MB.

So there's no reason a 6MB/s card shouldn't be fine in that camera.
