I know in win9x there is a 4GB limitation on file size. Does the limitation still apply if you're running win2k with FAT32 instead of NTFS?

No limitation in Win2k. I'm running it right now with my 30 GB drive partitioned into 15-7-7 (the other GB is included as parts of the other 3 because they didn't divide evenly or something)

He said file size, not partition size.

And yes I'm fairly sure the 4GB file size limit is still there. It's a function of the file system, not the OS. If Win2k ignored it and made a 5Gig file, what would that do to Win9x? Win9x can read/write the same partitons as Win2k if they are Fat32.

The same file system will have the same limits everywhere, no matter what OS is using it.
