I spent a few days shopping around and the best price I could find on a Nano was at the Apple Store. They have refurbs with one year limited warranty for $169. I bougt one with a wrist band with overnight shipping for around $230.

Yep. That's always the issue. There's a lot of players with more features. But nothing can compare with the user interface and the integration between iTunes and the iPod.
That's why Apple's got the market locked up.
Let us not forget those of us who DO know MP3 players, and computers, etc, and who have friends who trust us for recommendations on stuff to buy. I recommend iPods to people I know because it really is the simplest, most efficiently-designed MP3 solution on the market. Actually, just the ignorance of 3/4 of the country that doesn't know what an mp3 player is, just what an Ipod is.
