I am somewhat new to computers, so please forgive me. The Dell XPS 600 doesn't offer 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM @ 667Mhz - 4DIMMs as an option, it only goes to 2 GB of DC DDR2 SDRAM @ 667Mhz - In 2 or 4 DIMMs. The XPS Gen 5 has the 4 GB, but not the 600? Can someone break it down so I can understand why, and what a DIMM is?

Thank you.

DIMM = Dual Inline Memory Module

They probably don't list 4GB @ 667 because you'd be talking about a $1000 upgrade :p

My advice is to stick with 512MB or 1GB and if you want/need more RAM purchase it elsewhere. Dell really rapes you on upgrades.
