4GB DDR3 single modules?

bamacre

Would love to have some non-ECC 4GB single models. I know they are being made, as Dell is offering some with one or two of their systems. Does anyone know when these may hit the shelves in decent quantities?

never, we are transition to DDR3 and the supply of 4GB DDR2 has actually gone DOWN. you can still find them, but don't expect excellent deals due to large volume production.

are these dual sided? Also who is the maker? Nanya?

Not sure, I haven't seen any personally. But yes, dell uses Nanya, as well as Samsung, Hynix, Elpida, ProMos, and I've seen some Micron DDR3 modules. But no, I have not been able see any 4GB modules Dell is using. They only have them when ordering 24GB in a Studio XPS 435MT or 435T. And it aint cheap. 😀

they had them on newegg, you can buy 8GB sticks of DDR2 ram as well... extremely expensive though.

ECC or non-ECC? I am really looking for non-ECC.

I saw a while back Samsung are getting stuck into producing 32nm RAM modules which would allow for higher density sticks- hope they're on the way soon 🙂.
