Wow, this was $50 Monday. I picked up two kits then...might have to grab another tonight. Thought I noticed 1.65v when I loaded it up.

Even though I don't really need this, I'm half tempted to pick up a pair since it's such a good deal. Especially when I remember ram was twice as expensive a year ago.

Yeah, nice to see DDR3 prices coming down. Hopefully we'll start to see $20-30 for 4GB DDR3 like DDR2 was a couple years ago.

From one perspective, yes. Unfortunately, those low DDR2 prices could have been a strong indicator of us being in an economic recession. These low DDR3 prices could indicate the same for today. Let's hope this is not the case. I did read the other day that Dell's system sales were lower than expected. Gah, I'm such a Debbie Downer.

the $20 4gb kits you saw were because of the recession.

infineon went bankrupt , and liquidated their stock depressing spot prices. on top of that manufacturers of all kinds in the economy were cutting inventory to have more cash on hand (since there was no credit available).

this caused a decrease in capital spending as well to expand plants from over capacity. the prices you see today is really just plant expansion etc getting back to higher conditions . that high ram price period was because of the no expansion of factories because of the "lehman brotherse world is going to end times" and todays "its just crappy" times. i figure if it was a good econonmy, we'd have the situation again where factory expansion would get so big that some ram manufacturers would be losing money again (i think a few in taiwan actually got bailed out, during the last, over expansion , then money losing spell)

I highly recommend buying this RAM if you can. I was just down in Westmont (one of two Chicago MCs) and they have a bunch. It looks like some new stuff, barely anyone has it.

ADATA
P/N AXDU1333GB2G9-2G
2x2GB DDR3-1333
9-9-9-24
low voltage 1.25-1.35v

Yup, these are low voltage kits! IMO that makes the deal even hotter.

Are there going to be any LGA 1155 Sandy Bridge boards with 6 DDR3 slots that can handle 12 gigs? You know, just wondering... :)

Zap - Did you try overclocking with these sticks by any chance? I wanted to pick a couple of kits up but was worried they will flake out when I try to overclock an i5/i7.
