$20 rebate ends 3/28/2015.

Lowest price I have seen yet for DDR4.

X99 motherboards start at $144.79 AR (although the entry Asrock only has 6 phase power):

Now if only some company would put the Xeon E5-1620 V3 (4T/8T @ 3.5/3.6 with 10MB cache, 40 PCIe lanes, 140 watt TDP) on sale X99 begins to look somewhat affordable.

Interestingly, perhaps, is that that Xeon CPU does NOT support "Intel Flex Memory Access".

Did the socket 1366 Xeons support it?

So, in the context of 2011-3, does that mean that one has to buy an x4 kit of DDR4, and fill all banks? Or even fill all memory slots on the board altogether? I guess no mixing DIMMs of different sizes either.

8GB for $100 - $30MIR = $70

I wonder if the price will go any lower in the next 12 months?

That is a really good question.

As far as I can tell, not having the Flex Memory Access would mean these chips cannot operate in dual channel, triple channel or quad channel if the DIMMs are different sizes.

However, 2 x 4GB should still work in dual channel.
