i just built a 2.53/4g4a+ system using corsair cas 2 xms3000
i wanted o OC but am not exactly sure, on the procedure
i went into the bios and change from 133 to 140 and got running at 2.66 adn memory running at 175 and my idle temp is bout 44 degrees
if i would like to OC it more would i have to play with the voltage?
or can i just change the sytem bus from 140 to greater?

Add more FSB until you can't load windows or is unstable and then add voltage one step 1.525V.If that voltage doesn't do it,add another .025 to 1.550.Just keep repeating the process, but don't go over 1.7 voltage.Set your memory timings at the lowest 2.5/3/3/7 until you find how high your CPU will go_Once you find how high your CPU goes. You will need to see if you want to run faster memory or a higher CPU speed. For faster memory like examples 2/2/2/6, 2/3/3/6 2/3/3/5 , 2/2/2/5.For better memory speeds you will have to lower your cpu speed cause it won't be stable. For higher CPU speed keep your memory timings more relaxed. You will have to decide which is faster for you, faster memory or higher CPU speeds.I forgot to add, download prime95 and MBM5 to watch your voltage from the progams post at the top of the overclockers forum. Some guys will run prime for roughly an hour or so before raising the fsb and voltage more each step.Or you can do it at the end of overclocking and if prime errors just reduce your FSB 2-4fsb and re-run prime.Run it overnight or 6 hours to see if your stable.Prime will tell you how long the program ran for when it errors.

You can try differnt ratios like 1:1 start with this.Than try 3:4 and to get 4:5 on yor mobo you need to take "off" the jumper on the JP1 to the left of the north bridge on your motherboard to enable it.

I have the same mobo and it reads higher than the ASUS boards. Don't know which one is closer to the right temp though. But if you hitting 50C at idle, then you might want to try with your side off your case to see if you need more airflow in your case.

If those are load temps then keep on clockin.....:)

...................edit....................
My temps with an AX-478 (Arctic Silver 3 as a thermal interface) and a temp controlled fan run 39-41C at idle and 51-53 at full load. I am running my 1.8A at 2.7gig with 1.7vcore.
