4g tablet and wifi

Have a 4g tablet and inthe same house there is awifi network. The wifi network thoughis only connected to a desktop and printer, no internet or other devices.

Problem im having is that everytime a browser window opened for the first time, the tablet turns wifi on and then is unable to detect an internet signal. How to I stop the tablet from activating wifi on its own?

What model is the tablet and what browser are you using? Did you try using a different browser?

How about connecting to wifi rather than using 4g?

it's a samsung tablet, which exact one I'm not sure. there is no internet other than 4g, so connecting to wifi doesn't serve any purpose.

Does the tablet have connection optimizer installed? turn it off to stop it from automatically changing your network settings.

Settings should have a way of disabling Wi-Fi.

Your tablet should have a nomenclature plate or sticker somewhere.

now that I have some enw phrases to search for, came across this. Will try this next.


At long last! This is the answer! Settings>More Settings>Mobile networks>Connections optimizer>Uncheck box that says "automatically select best mobile network"

My WiFi hasn't cut back on automatically since I've done. Thank you for posting this.

Found the setting(s). Now it just occasionally has a pop up when first starting a browser that ask do you want to turn wifi on.
