Hello All!

I was looking through this forum hoping to get a straight answer if anyone has had success using 8800 GTS or 8800 GTX video card in their 4CoreDual-SATA2 MB (not the R2.0 version)?

I didn't see anywhere in here if someone actually is using one of these video cards in this specific MB.

ASROCK website shows that these video cards are compatible (at least the MSI or LEADTEK version of these boards).

I am currently using a ASUS HD3870 in one of my PC's with the 4CoreDual-SATA2 with no problems what so ever. I want to upgrade my other PC (which has the same motherboard) with a new video card.

Thanks!

It will work, but since the slot is electrically x4 and not x16, performance may be limited.

If that board is anything like 775Dual-VSTA board (also from Asrock), you may need to flash the GTS/GTX card with Gen 1 pcie BIOS to get it to post with the board. There is a large thread in the motherboards forum about this board here that might help.
