Dell 1200
By the way, the specs on the Toshiba say battery life "up to 1 1/2 hours":Q
That's similar to the Acer that Compusa was selling around 6 weeks ago, where the battery life was also claimed "up to 1 1/2 hours" and people were getting as little as 50 minutes from a full charge.
At least this Dell claims 2 1/2 hours and up to 4 hours if you upgraded to the Li-Ion battery.
The Toshiba might be a better laptop (excluding crappy battery life) but you do have to deal with 300 in rebates.

Id take the Truebrite XGA display, the free printer, the free router, the free bag, and the free roundtrip air fair for $500 AR over the dell any day of the week.

I would too, but unfortunately this laptop doesn't qualify for all those free extras. 🙁

On my CompUsa ad it states " This price is too hot! Does not qualify for Back-to-School bundle. Quantities limited to stock on hand"
