40x cd-rw external usb 2.0 drives going for $39.99. To me even if the burner itself "sux0rZ", it's worth it for the 2.0 enclosure, power supply and cable.

At my local officemax, they had these drives on the clearance table, but at $39 and $49. Is there an additional amount taken off at the register, or is my local Officemax just a ripoff?

Don't feel too bad. I saw an external 24X (appeared to be USB 2.0) burner, I think Polaroid, marked at $59 or $69, among a pile of clearance merchandise. I'm in MA, where OD got basically ran out of state, so OM doesn't seem to offer the same sales as reported elsewhere, because one of their biggest competitors isn't present anymore. (Still have Staples though, their corporate HQ is located here.)

I imagine that Walmart will be raising prices significantly when K-mart and Target are gone too.

Btw, Polaroid was/is in Chap11, and doesn't sell/support their burners anymore, and some people have had quality problems with them too. But $30-40 for a USB 2.0 enclosure isn't too bad.

$19.99 for the Internal Drives only and $39.99 for External.
I had them honor a staples coupon for $10 off only at the B&M.
These drives are discontinued and availablity may be scarace.
Call have have them check the SKU's above to see if any is in stock.

Yup, score two Pacific Digital on this deal. Got the 48X burner rebadged Lite-on for $19.99 + tax. and the second was the 52X burner (not lite-on) for $19.99 + tax - $30 rebate. Money in my pocket. The 2nd burner was not intended as a hot deal.

I advise TO call, Don't not waste your time going down there and theres no availability.
I called they knew exactly what I was talking about so they told me what they had left.

today, customer came in wanting a BEIGE monitor
employee said ONLY black and silver...
i say get off the couch (get some exercise, going to the bathroom and the refrigerator does not count) and make sure
anybody free to do what they want, but crying (or saying the deal is dead) cause they didn't get the deal is pretty bogus imo
