3dmark06 is heavily influenced by the choice of CPU.

My Q6600 @ 3.4ghz and a lowly 8800GTS 320mbs got 12,567 marks.

Now let's compare gaming scores:

4890 vs. 8800GTS 320

Sum of FPS Benchmarks 1920x1200 with anti aliasing, 8AA
4890 = 177 (6.8x)
8800GTS = 26

Fire up some games now :)

3DMark06 is so CPU bound, when I upgraded from the X800XT AGP to the X1950XT AGP, my score didn't increase at all. But when I ditched the Pentium 4 EE with the Pentium M, my score increased considerably, to the point that when I moved to the HD 3850 AGP later, I almost reached 10K. And look today, with my Quad Core and a HD 4870, I only score around 17.5K, which is far from the theorical power difference between both setups.

now it worked fine in 3dmark and wow so far
but when i tried playing hawx . after about 2-3 min i gota pink/red ish screen and had to restart
could it be overheating?
i set the fan to auto speed now

What are you trying to achieve here?

Just higher benchmark scores? Or playable framerates in games at some (unspecified) res/detail setting?

3DMark06 is not a good utility for measuring overall gaming performance. The best "benchmarks" are for you to actually play the games and take note of any changes. You should see about a 40-50% performance improvement (can vary even more depending on the game and settings used).

So basically your OC is unstable. This is not the board partner's issue.
