Hmmm, I'd say maybe. But, know doubt you will be overclocking that fantastic CPU upwards of 3.6GHz anyhow so then there will no bottleneck at all! Enjoy the best card on the planet!

Edit: At 1920x1200 you're going to be much more GPU limited then CPU limited.

The CPU will be the deciding factor if you use 1280x1024 or lower.

Hmm..3.6GHz might be a lil too demanding without an aftermarket cooler ( not yet available in NZ) and the hot summer, what do you think of ~3.0GHz?

You won't be completely bottlenecked but you'd certainly notice an improvement by overclocking that CPU. I wouldn't worry about it if you plan on getting an after-market cooler anyways. If anything you'll have some nice comparison benches that you can share with others. :)

Legion Hardwares CPU scaling with 4870 at 1920X1200

Basically the 4870X2 really needs a quad core to drive the card, but after 3.0Ghz the performance per speed ratio goes way down. From 2.66 to 3.0 there is a huge jump. After you reach 3.0 every 300 OC only gives a single fps for almost all games. But further tests have proved that for each 300 from 3.0 up to 4.4 you still get a single fps increase. So if you are willing to stress the CPU and pump the power up, you do still get a linear scale. It's just not as good as before 3.0.
