I have a brand new LG E2360 and Powercolor 4870 PCS+, after about a month of buying the monitor (bought it last November) the pc BSOD'd. I wasn't using it that time I was watching TV and when I came back to my pc it already crashed, I failed to take note of the error codes. After restart the monitor is broken, RGB colors do not line up like each one has their own mind.
RMA'd the monitor, used an old but problem-free Samsung 226BW temporarily but after a couple of days it now fails to wake up after sleep. I tried turning off sleep/hibernation in Windows 7, disabling even the pci-e power management but it doesn't wake up, even after a cold boot.
I got the LG replacement but the Samsung developed this waking up problem even on a different pc, so I had to just enable screensaver and disable turning off the monitor in windows. I removed the 4870 as it might mess up the newly replaced LG monitor and I'm currently using the integrated video in my mobo.
Question is, is it possible that the video card breaks the monitors? I don't want to risk using the 4870 again and mess up another monitor. I'll probably just buy a graphics card replacement when I can afford it but what am I to do with the 4870, is it a bad idea to use it again?
setup:
X6 1090T
MSI 890GXM-G65
2x4gb 1333 cl9 Ripjaws X
Corsair HX650
