Good holiday shopping. Its not the best gaming system but it sure will work very well.

meh. it might not be 'the best' if you go ask people on these forums... but in real life it will play games pretty much exactly the same as a $1000 rig.

Dude, check yourself. He was agreeing with you, then you called him out telling him to learn how to read.

Wow, nice deal. Too bad it's a 512MB card, that's kind of limiting these days.

I still have a couple of VisionTek reference HD4850 cards lying around collecting dust. One of them still NIB!

If I had some older, low-budget gaming rigs, then these would be the cards I would get.

But given that 2x 4870 = $120, and you can get a GTX460 1GB card for $100AR (Newegg, PNY 1GB card), the choice is clear.

hot deals bring out the lurkers!

I'm putting together a low budget gaming rig, and plan to pair this with a i3.

Good idea?

I'd definitely recommend this video card. I grabbed one the first time they went on sale and haven't had any issues. Note that it requires 2 x 6 pin pci express power adapters from your power supply. With a decent i3, I imagine you could play a lot of games at fairly high quality. The most I've thrown at it was Skyrim on High and I didn't think there were any problems at 1920 x 1080.

Thats my two cents.
