I just installed the ati radeon 4850x2 and i do not get an image on my monitor. I installed my old graphics card and it worked fine. I then proceeded to install vista and then swapped my 4850x2 and tried to run it and nothing happened. The comp gives a beep but nothing shows up on the monitor. I turned off the computer and wiggled the 4850x2 a little and then restarted my computer and it worked. I then installed the MOBO drivers and the 4850x2 drivers. I then turned off my computer and unplugged everything and moved it away from my desk to put the side panels back on. When I plugged everything back in and turn on my comp the same thing is happening. The comp gives a beep but nothing displays on the monitor.

Is there anything I can do or do I have a bad 4850x2?

Make sure you have *both* power connectors pluged plugged into the card, you need to have them both attached to the card to power it up. If it's plugged in and still not working, I'm not so sure.

Edit: I've heard something about this happening with certain video cards and people have reported success with attaching the card to their monitor via VGA *first* which works, then installing the os and drivers and switching back to DVI. If you have a vga adapter, it might work. Also, check in this thread, these guys are pretty friendly and have a lot of info on the 4850x2

Thanks for your help. I just reinstalled the card and the fans turned on then off. I wiggled the card and the fans turned on again and then the display came. But I am now afraid of moving it.

Haha, yeah, sounds like a seating issue. That card is x-box huge so it may have trouble staying seated properly. Just keep an eye on it.
