I wouldn't bother. Wait till you get a bigger monitor or til the next generation of video cards comes out.

at least wait few more weeks before you decide. but sometimes when you are bitten by the "upgrade bug" you just gotta get something ;)

i recommand a bigger monitor :D

Would definitely be a waste of money to upgrade to a 4870 or a GTX 260 Core 216 from a 4850.

it depends on what it would cost you to upgrade and what games you play. I happen to hate any sort of lag whatsoever and like max settings, plus I was able to upgrade for $55 or so net. If you can do that then I say "why not"?

The only real advantage would be the extra mem for games like GTA4.

Also depends if you just want to use the absolute best settings, I've had 4870 crossfire on a 22" monitor till I got my higher res one.
Had a major "Upgradeatytis" this gpu generation :p

save your money for a real upgrade to a new faster core.

just play wit your 4850 for now

I saw a large performance gain over a 4850 when moving to a GTX260+ (approx 40%-50%) in modern games, but I typically use at least 1600x1200 with at least 4xAA.

If you use 1680x1050 with lower levels of AA, you might not see such a dramatic difference.
