4850 + Hotfix drivers + CoD4 = Crashing every 10mins

When I got the card I used the regular 8.6 drivers with CCC and it kept saying it could not find the correct drivers for the card or something of that sort. So I uninstalled it and found a hotfix driver for the 4800 series. The error messages went away but CoD4 would crash to desktop on me every 10-15 minutes. I then tried the 8.5 but it wouldn't even let me install it so I went back to the 8.6 with just the driver and no CCC. Now CoD4 plays fine and no more error messages and I'm a happy gamer.

Strange. I'm running Vista 64 and a 4850. I used 8.6 with CCC (didn't use hotfix) and played the entire way through CoD4.

when did you dl the hotfix ... if you pulled it before the card's "official" launch then you got an older hotfix (AMD silently updated it and didn't make any mention of it) ... if you downloaded it it in the past couple days then that wouldn't be the issue though ...
