i just got an 4800x2 trying to oc it to 2.6 and laterabove but when i put it at those speeds everything crashes ive got it set to 2.5 ghz and it works fine i had the v core at 1.35v and tried up to 1.4v it didnt make a difference but when i upped the voltage my voltage monitor (asus probe) was getting the same readings which never went above 1.4v even when set to 1.4v in the bios i had the cpu mulitplier set on 12 havent done much tweeking with that my mobo is the asus a8n sli premium bios are up to date

Try going up on the HTT, reduce the multiplier, use a lower memory divider if necessary, and increase the voltage to 1.45v.

I have the same motherboard, and a very similar processor (see signature). Try playing with memory voltages, timings, and dividers. Set the memory to 266 or 133, and see if the system will boot past 2.6. If it doesn't, you're processor / motherboard limited. If it does, you know where the problem is. 🙂

I have many X2's (not a 4800) but the most I can get out of any of them is 2.5, so it may be your limit.
