4800se DOA?

Bear with me.. this is a long one.

Just got an albatron 4800se today, hooked it up and now I can only get into win2k via safe mode or vga mode. I had uninstalled the 43.45 drivers before taking out my old ti200 and when I booted up using the dvi connection it was semi garbled once windows booted up (black lines going up and down the screen) but I managed to reinstall the nvidia drivers. However, then when I rebooted and then managed to get the dell display driver (digital aka dvi) installed the screen goes blank just as the windows loading screen gets to the end.

Various messages from the LCD (FP1800) duing this have been along the lines of "out of range input values" and basically the screen just kicks out into power saving mode.

This happens now in either dsub or dvi ports and I tested the dsub port on the 4800 with a 17'' crt and it couldnt boot either into win2k normal boot (after I tried it in safe mode making sure it was using pnp monitor driver etc.).

I don't think its the lcd monitor either as Im using it right now on the dsub connection on my backup box with a gf1.

Any ideas on whats causing this prob? Or is it just a fubar'ed card and I'm on the road to RMA'sville?

TIA

Oh how the gods have cursed me this day. Vid card appears to be working fine.. just not on my nforce2 box. Both dvi and dsub work fine on my duron box.. damn thing loaded up xp just fine, detected the card, installed 43.45 drivers, reboot and go. Both dvi and dsub work... Gotta be some driver issue in 2k.

I know with my LCD, you have to hit the AUTO button for it to adjust when it goes blank. Might try that...

Thanks for the idea but it turns out it was some kind of weird monitor driver error. For some reason it kept overwriting the new monitor driver, also seemed to help when I connected it first to the analog jack, got the updated driver installed, then shutdown and hooked up the dvi jack. At least its working now.
