You should eat more eggs, less tuna.
Though I'm SURE you know that.
hehe

Eggs = uber high in cholesterol.

Original poster, how many oz of tuna per can?

There is one known suspected case.

😉

All the studying and enthalpy calculations have got me screwed up.

Mercury content in tuna = 0.5ppm ish
FDA limit for methyl mercury is 1ppm
methyl mercury

480 cans of 6 oz tuna is about 81.5 kg.

If his tuna cans contained 0.5ppm mercury in methyl form like the average ones,
8.15x10^4 g /2x10^6 =4.08x10^-2g or about 41mg of methyl mercury

What a rip-off. I think the going price on the metals market is currently in the $80.00 per kilogram range.

Damn.. 41mg.. :Q

Dunno about you, but I wouldn't willingly ingest ~40mg of any known toxin.

so since you bought it at walmart, you didnt get a discount for buying in bulk.

so you paid ~$1.25 per can???

Funny, eggs ARE good for us. One of the only foods that provide all the essential amino acids. But you knew that.

I dunno. I sort of believe in 'everything in moderation'. I love eggs, but I don't know as eating a ton of them is a good idea. Tuna is a good cheap source of protein with little fat. Sucks about the mercury though.

Uh, eating a ton of eggs is better than eating a ton of mercury laced tuna. 😛

Eggs are good for you. The whole cholesterol thing is bunk. Just like there are good and bad carbs, good and bad fats.. there is good and bad cholesterol.

But.. you know that.

😛

Jeebus, protein shakes are 10x better than tuna. Just don't get the cheap stuff.

Sweeten with Splenda, skim milk, a little ice, berries......sweet morning milkshake.

Not to mention 2 large milkshakes will give me something like 80 grams of protein. 4 cans of tuna will supply about 60 grams.
