i have an agoia core (xp1600+) running at 1800+ with no voltage bump, ant he board shows the cpu temp only being 42 idle, 47 load, is it really reading the internal diode....

i am using an mcx 462 with a sunon fan on it.

is this right?

What does USDM program from Epox give you as temp readings dannybin1742? Also what is the ambiant temp in the room your computer is in?

8k3a's read off the internal diode on XP's.
Before, stuck using the inaccurate socket thermistors, everyone always wanted to know just how hot Athlons ran, now you know...

If that's accurate it's actually pretty cool. Chips can run far above that speed, and I'll bet even Intel P4's aren't very far off that temp.

the 8k3a is one of a handful of int. diode reading motherboards though :(.

As far as the temps, they should be accurate. With a low system temp and a great heatsink, 45C internal isn't uncommon.

Of course, it is good to remember that most 8k3a+ internal diode readings with standard cooling and heatsinks usually run in the 50-70C range. Its rare (though not impossible) for an int. diode athlonxp reading to be at 45C with the right situation.

i'm using the software that they gave me, it just seems the temps are low..... like at post, from a reboot, it reads 41C, my kt266a always read 36-39 on a reboot post, so i'm just curious.

btw, 26.7C room temp

yes and yes.

But bios/post screen temps aren't full load nor idle. They are typically inbetween, usually slightly above "half" load. Get a windows program and post your load temps!

ok, ran 4 hours of 3dmark 02

idle shows 47, load shows 53 using the usdm that zim gave me thanks dude!

i am using an mcx 462B with a sunon

its an xp 1600+ oced to 1700+ - no voltage adjustments vcore sitting at 1.74V

is 3.26 low for the 3.3V line?

3.26 V is not too low for a 3.3V rail. 5% of the rail (standard tolerances) is 3.135 to 3.465.

A temp of 54C "load" (3dmark isn't the purest of "load" cpu heating programs), is very reasonable for your processor.

You're welcome dannybin1742, I could never figure out how Motherboard Monitor worked and was lucky enough to have someone point me towards USDM, life is way easier now :)

BTW

the AGOIA is an awesome core, just out of curiosity i was able to get my cpu 166X10 at 1.8 vcore, and 2.6 vdimm.

didn't run stability test though, it just booted into windows and and played some mohaa, very fast!!

gonna wait till i put it in the water rig till i really push it

I got my 1700+ at 1470mhz to 2100+ 1750 mhz 12.5x140 with default voltage and it runs the exact same idle/load temps as stock. When i raise the vcore is when the temps start to rise. AGOIA rox! I have been running at this speed for 2 months now with no problems.

Best of luck to you danny my AXP 1600 AGOIA runs great at 1666 (166X10) :) with only 1.775v (1.76v average) Watercooled 100% stable so far. I tried 1750 but a no go at any thing under 1.9v Yuck :(

Well any how nice OC and I bet you will be stable no problem at 1666 with water cooling.
